catch up time =)
this is a week late but i've actually been busy at work this week for a change so i couldn't sit and type. anyways, colorado was awesome. my family, except my parents, andrew and joel, wont see one of my cousin's so splitting up the time was tough. it went like this:
tim and carrie's:
there were 30 people in their ginormous beast of a house on saturday and sunday. most of them spent the night too. it was classic vanni family maddness. kids flying everywhere, friends and family dyeing of laughing, everyone play fighting: rubber-bands snapping, bottles whacking, feet frantically running away. so awesome. also, i got to finally engage with my 4 other baby cousins which i've never been able to do because they moved to colorado when they were 9(ashleigh), 3(jordan), 1(devon) and un-born(luke) yet; 3 girls and one boy. they are AWESOME kids. my heart was so stoked to be with them. waking up to a 4 year old girl who is light as a feather and gorgeous as heck saying with blankie in hand, the cutest raspiest soft voice and hair that is everywhere asking " please hold me" is something that i could seriously get used to. let me tell you, they are crazies tho. they jump, climb, laugh, fall, push, run barefoot in the forest, crash, scream and love like there is no tomorrow.
joel's:
oh joel... he is this: a recovering hard-core druggie, 4 time dui convict in a 2 year span with no license from 2008 - 2011, A.D.D. controlled, anger problems, computer junkie, god-hater, issues with authority, disgustingly messy, detests my mother, deep thinking nut whom i love tremendously but have no respect for. he twists everything to make it seem like it goes against him. in his all-knowing opinion, the world is out to get him so he has to get it first by any means possible. so, all that said, going to his house was not going to be good and it wasn't. thankfully he has cats which i instantly die being around so it was a perfect reason to spend as little time as possible in the house, which stunk like incense, beer, cats and mess. so we left to go see rhonda...
rhonda's:
the infamous rhonda rabbit. her story could take up the entire front page of the blog plus more. she has cheated, lied, stolen, hurt, broke every person in her life. she has ran away, drugged out, partied, drank, lived in the streets starting when she was 16. the intensity of all this should have killed her but at the age of 30 it caught up with her and she got pregnant miraculously. she was supposed to not be able to have kids and what she's done to her body its not surprising. her little girl is now in a loving family somewhere in wisconsin. i hope one day, i'll get to see her but she has no idea about me. so all that to say, rhonda is doing better, her place is adorable and she is honestly seeking a better life. it rocked to see her.
gary:
he doesnt get an apostrophe 's' because he doesnt live anywhere. he crashes on couches, changing weekly. he's a nomad; always has been always will be. i love him and i do respect him.
i learned a lot from all these psychos and it was honestly hard to leave them. devon, the cuddle bug of the family, likes to say blueberry when she wants a hug and when we left she just kept saying blueberry over and over and over again. good times. i can't wait to hold them again. my family, although we have hated each other and that tension still lingers, is my family and i love them.
