Israel’s Confession and Comfort:
7 Therefore I will look to the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.
8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The LORD will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation (a righteous anger) of the LORD because I have sinned against Him.
Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me, I will continue to bear it.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
notice the recurring use of the word will in this crazy awesome passage from the book of micah. god doesn't mean maybe or sometimes or unless you are good. he says i will. how beautiful is that? humans tend to give the verb will the wrong definition.
will: expressing inevitable events
god is saying that it is inevitable that he's going to come rescue his beloveds.
he is also saying that we are going to bear the weight of the lord because we are sinners.
there's no other nice or universal way to say that. plain and simple: i sin.
the rescuing and the bearing go hand in hand.
you can't have one without the other.
that creates a religion.
i don't know about you, but i want a relationship with my jesus.
this verse has been on my heart repeatedly since monday.
much growth has been brought about because of it and the people in my life.
i am constantly reminded by the strength of god in my life and how little pull i have.
it'a a beautiful thing.
be loved by your god.
he gives good bear hugs.
